What is a landing page conversion rate calculator?
A landing page conversion rate calculator is a tool that follows paid visitors through your funnel in rupees. It starts with visitors and ends with revenue, cost per lead and revenue per visitor, so you can see what each change on the page is worth.
A landing page is a page built for one offer and one action, such as "book a site visit", "get a callback" or "download the fee guide". The visitor to lead rate, also called the landing page conversion rate, is the share of visitors who submit the form or tap the call or WhatsApp button. If 10,000 people arrive and 300 enquire, the rate is 3%.
Most teams know their page conversion rate. Fewer know what it is worth. A page rate on its own does not tell you whether a lift from 3% to 4% matters. This calculator connects the page to the rest of the funnel. It takes six inputs: monthly visitors, visitor to lead rate, lead to qualified rate, qualified to deal rate, average deal value and cost per click. It assumes all traffic is paid, which keeps the cost arithmetic clean.
It returns leads, qualified leads, deals, revenue, ad cost, cost per lead, cost per deal and revenue per visitor. It also shows a table of what happens at 2%, 3%, 4% and 5% page conversion with the same traffic and the same ad spend.
The tool does not tell you how to improve the page. It tells you how much improvement is worth chasing, so you can decide whether to redesign the page, test a shorter form, fix your follow up or spend on something else. It uses no outside benchmarks, because page conversion varies widely by offer, traffic source, price and industry. Use your own numbers.
Why does landing page conversion matter for Indian sales teams?
Landing page conversion matters because it multiplies everything you spend on traffic. At the same click cost, a better page gives you more leads, cheaper leads and more deals without raising the ad budget.
For Indian teams, a few points stand out.
Traffic is paid for every click. Whether your visitors come from Google search, Meta ads or a partner, each click has a price. A page that converts poorly turns that price into waste. The link between click cost and lead cost is direct: cost per lead equals cost per click divided by the visitor to lead rate. At ₹12 a click and 3% conversion, a lead costs ₹400.
Most visitors arrive on a phone. Many Indian visitors will open your page on a mid range phone over a mobile network. A page that loads slowly, shows a long form or hides the call and WhatsApp buttons loses visitors before they see the offer.
Trust is the main barrier. A visitor who does not know your brand wonders if the number will be sold or spammed. A clear promise, a consent line under the DPDP Act and visible proof reduce that worry.
The page is only half the funnel. A lead that is called after two days has probably moved on. A calculation that ignores follow up overstates the value of the page. The Lead Response Time Calculator shows what delay costs.
Budget approval needs numbers. If you want a developer, designer or copywriter to improve a page, the calculator turns "we should improve conversion" into "one point is worth ₹3,00,000 a month at today's traffic". That is an argument finance understands.
How to use the Landing Page Conversion Calculator
Enter your real monthly traffic and funnel numbers, then read the funnel, the cost figures and the lift table. The example values load on first view so you can see a full result at once.
- Enter monthly visitors. Use paid visits to the landing page from your analytics, not impressions or ad clicks reported by the platform if they differ. The example is 10,000.
- Enter the visitor to lead rate. Divide leads from the page by visitors. Count form fills, callbacks and WhatsApp starts as leads. The example is 3%.
- Enter lead to qualified. Use the share of leads that pass qualification after a first conversation. The example is 25%.
- Enter qualified to deal. Use the share of qualified leads that become paid deals. The example is 20%.
- Enter average deal value. Use realised revenue per deal. The example is ₹60,000.
- Enter cost per click. Use the average you pay for clicks to this page. The example is ₹12.
- Read the table of page conversion rates. Look at the gap between your current rate and one point higher.
After you read the result, decide where the next rupee should go. If revenue per visitor is low because the page converts badly, work on the page. If the page converts well but few leads qualify, work on targeting or the offer. If many leads qualify but few close, work on follow up. The Cost Per Lead ROI Calculator helps you compare channels once you know your page numbers.
How is landing page conversion value calculated?
The calculator multiplies visitors through each funnel rate to get leads, qualified leads and deals, then multiplies deals by deal value for revenue and divides ad cost by each stage for the cost figures. Every step is simple arithmetic.
Formulas:
leads = visitors x visitor to lead rate
qualified leads = leads x lead to qualified rate
deals = qualified leads x qualified to deal rate
revenue = deals x average deal value
ad cost = visitors x cost per click
cost per lead = ad cost / leads (which equals cost per click / visitor to lead rate)
cost per deal = ad cost / deals
revenue per visitor = revenue / visitors
Inputs explained: visitors are paid visits to this page; visitor to lead rate is the page conversion; the two funnel rates describe what your team does after the enquiry; deal value is the revenue per sale; cost per click is the price of each visit.
Assumptions:
- All traffic is paid, so ad cost is visitors times click cost. If part of your traffic is organic, your real cost per lead is lower than the tool shows.
- Funnel rates stay the same when the page conversion changes. In practice a looser form can bring in less qualified leads, so watch qualified rates after any page change.
- Everything happens in the same month. Long sales cycles delay revenue.
- Only ad cost is counted. Design, tools, agency fees and sales salaries are extra.
- No outside benchmarks are used. Your rates are your own.
Worked example: 10,000 visitors at ₹12 a click
With the default inputs, 10,000 visitors produce 300 leads, 75 qualified leads and 15 deals worth ₹9,00,000, against an ad cost of ₹1,20,000. These are the numbers the tool shows when it loads.
| Input | Default value |
|---|---|
| Monthly visitors | 10,000 |
| Visitor to lead | 3% |
| Lead to qualified | 25% |
| Qualified to deal | 20% |
| Average deal value | ₹60,000 |
| Cost per click | ₹12 |
| Output | Result | How it is reached |
|---|---|---|
| Leads | 300 | 10,000 x 3% |
| Qualified leads | 75 | 300 x 25% |
| Deals | 15 | 75 x 20% |
| Revenue | ₹9,00,000 | 15 x 60,000 |
| Ad cost | ₹1,20,000 | 10,000 x 12 |
| Cost per lead | ₹400 | 1,20,000 / 300 |
| Cost per deal | ₹8,000 | 1,20,000 / 15 |
| Revenue per visitor | ₹90 | 9,00,000 / 10,000 |
Read the chain. Of every 10,000 visitors, 300 enquire, 75 qualify and 15 buy. Every visitor you pay ₹12 for returns ₹90 in revenue on average. Dividing revenue by ad cost gives 7.5, which means each rupee of ad spend returns ₹7.50 of revenue before other costs.
Now the lift table, which is the heart of the tool. Traffic and ad cost stay at 10,000 visitors and ₹1,20,000. Only the page conversion changes.
| Visitor to lead | Leads | Deals | Revenue | Cost per lead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2% | 200 | 10 | ₹6,00,000 | ₹600 |
| 3% (current) | 300 | 15 | ₹9,00,000 | ₹400 |
| 4% | 400 | 20 | ₹12,00,000 | ₹300 |
| 5% | 500 | 25 | ₹15,00,000 | ₹240 |
A one point lift from 3% to 4% adds 100 leads, 5 deals and ₹3,00,000 a month at the same ad spend. Over twelve months, at these same assumptions, that is ₹36,00,000. A one point drop from 3% to 2% removes the same ₹3,00,000. A small change on the page has a large effect, but only if the funnel behind it holds.
How do you read your result?
You read the result by looking at cost per lead, cost per deal and revenue per visitor together, then at the gap between your current rate and the next point up. No number is good or bad on its own. Compare against your margin and your own history.
- Cost per lead. At ₹400 in the example, each lead costs about 33 clicks at ₹12, because a 3% rate means roughly one lead per 33 visitors. If you want a lower cost per lead, either pay less per click or convert more of the clicks.
- Cost per deal. ₹8,000 against a ₹60,000 deal is about 13%. Check this against margin. If cost per deal is close to deal value, the funnel needs work before you scale traffic.
- Revenue per visitor. ₹90 against ₹12 paid per click is a strong ratio in this example. If your own revenue per visitor is below your click cost, you lose money on each visit.
- Lift value. In the example the next point is worth ₹3,00,000 a month. Compare that with the cost of the test or redesign. If a project costs less than a month or two of that gain, it deserves priority.
- Qualified rate after a change. If a shorter form lifts conversion but lowers the lead to qualified rate, the real gain is smaller. Recheck after every test.
| If you see | It suggests | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Low page rate, good qualified rate | The page loses people before the form | Test headline, form length and speed |
| High page rate, low qualified rate | The page attracts the wrong people or the form is too loose | Tighten the promise or add a qualifying question |
| Good leads, low close rate | Follow up or pitch is the problem | Check response time and call quality |
| Cost per click rising | Competition or relevance issue | Review keywords, audiences and ad copy |
Use the table as a guide for where to look, not as a diagnosis. Your data will show the real cause.
Landing page conversion by industry
Each industry has a different page job, so what you test first should differ. These suggestions are illustrative and make no claims about results.
Real estate
The page must answer location, price range and trust quickly. Show the project name, a clear starting point for budget, approvals information and a site visit button. Put a WhatsApp option next to the form. Many buyers enquire on several projects at once, so a fast response matters as much as the page. Track enquiries by campaign and by portal, and note which ones book a visit.
Education (schools, colleges, EdTech, study abroad)
Parents and students want to know fees, eligibility, dates and outcomes. A page with a clear next step, such as book a counselling call, works better than a vague enquiry form. Study abroad pages should state countries and intakes. School pages should state grades, locations and admission dates. Test whether asking for the course or class on the form improves qualification.
Manufacturing and B2B
Visitors are researchers and engineers, often on a desktop. Lead with the product category, specifications, certifications and a request for quote form. Ask for company, requirement and quantity. The conversion rate may be lower than a consumer page but each lead is worth more. Compare revenue per visitor and not only the rate, and keep the form to what sales needs.
Healthcare and clinics
Visitors are anxious and short of time. Show the doctor, location, timings and a one tap call or appointment button. Keep the form short and explain how you will use the data under the DPDP Act. Avoid medical claims that you cannot support. Load speed on a phone matters, since many patients search when they need help urgently and will not wait.
Automotive
Visitors compare models, offers and dealers. Give a clear model page with a test drive form, finance and exchange options, and the showroom address with a map link. Ask for model and preferred time. Track calls from the page separately from forms and WhatsApp starts, since many buyers prefer to call. Respond quickly because buyers contact several dealers.
Insurance and financial services
Visitors worry about trust and jargon. Use plain language, show regulatory information, and describe what happens after the form. Ask only for the details you need to start a conversation. Be careful with claims and consent for calls and messages. Test whether a call back request or a simple calculator produces better leads for your product, and watch the qualified rate.
SMBs and services
Visitors want proof and a quick answer. Show a clear service list, a range of work, reviews and a WhatsApp button. Keep the page to one offer. A small team should test one thing at a time, such as the headline or the button. With low traffic, changes take time to show a clear difference, so avoid reading too much into a few days of results.
What mistakes do teams make with landing page conversion?
Most mistakes come from testing without a clear goal, ignoring lead quality or forgetting the follow up. Avoid these.
- Chasing the page rate alone. A lift in conversion that brings unqualified leads can reduce revenue. Always check qualified leads and deals.
- Sending all traffic to the home page. A page with many options dilutes the action. Use a page for one offer.
- Long forms on mobile. Each field adds friction, especially on a small screen.
- Changing many things at once. You cannot tell what worked. Test one change at a time where traffic allows.
- Judging a test too early. A few days of low traffic can mislead. Wait for enough visitors.
- Ignoring page speed. A slow page loses visitors before they see it.
- Mismatch between ad and page. If the ad promises one thing and the page shows another, visitors leave.
- Slow follow up. A better page cannot fix a call that happens two days later.
How can you improve your result?
You improve the result in two places: the page itself, and everything that happens after the form. Work on both, in that order of ease. Page changes are fast and follow up changes are large.
Fix the page
Owner: marketing lead with a designer or developer. Timeline: two to three weeks.
- Make the headline match the ad that brought the visitor.
- Put the offer and the form above the fold on a phone.
- Cut the form to the fields you need to call. The Lead Form Grader scores your form against twelve checks.
- Add a WhatsApp and a call button.
- Add proof near the form, such as a customer result you can verify.
- Add a consent line explaining how you will contact the person.
Fix the offer
Owner: marketing lead. Timeline: one week to plan.
- Test a more specific promise.
- Try a useful asset instead of a plain enquiry. The Lead Magnet Idea Generator gives eight ideas for your industry.
- Rewrite the ad and page together. The Lead Ad Copy Generator helps with the ad side.
Fix the follow up
Owner: sales head. Timeline: before the next campaign.
- Assign every enquiry to a named owner automatically.
- Set a first contact standard.
- Create the next follow up at every stage.
- Track qualified and closed rates by campaign.
Run a simple test plan
Record your current rates in week one, change only the headline or the form in week two, compare qualified rates in week three and decide in week four. Then enter the new rate in the calculator.
Landing page conversion: spreadsheet, CRM or Erino?
A spreadsheet can run this calculation, but it cannot tell you your real qualified and close rates by campaign. A CRM does. Use analytics for the page, the calculator for the value and a CRM to measure what happens after the form.
| Approach | Good for | Weak at |
|---|---|---|
| Spreadsheet | One off what if scenarios | Live rates by campaign, follow up discipline |
| Generic CRM (for example LeadSquared, Zoho CRM, Kylas, TeleCRM, HubSpot) | Storing leads, source reports | Instant assignment and follow up rules need setup; check each vendor's current plans |
| Erino | What happens when an enquiry arrives: instant owner assignment, next follow up at every stage, WhatsApp Business API inbox, AI call analysis, stuck deal alerts | Does not build landing pages, run ads or find leads |
Erino does not build pages or buy traffic. Your own page tools, Meta lead ads and Google campaigns do that. Erino takes over when the enquiry arrives. With 100+ integrations for lead forms, ads, portals and your website, each enquiry reaches an owner at once. See the Erino platform and the real estate page for examples. Ghar Mil Gaya saw 31% more bookings, and you can read the story. Most teams go live in as little as 48 hours. Pricing is quoted after a free 15 minute demo. Smaller teams can start from the SMB page.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate landing page conversion rate?
Divide the number of people who took the action by the number of visitors, then multiply by 100. If 300 of 10,000 visitors submit a form or start a WhatsApp chat, the rate is 3%. Count each action consistently, and measure paid traffic separately from organic traffic. A landing page conversion rate calculator goes further than the rate by showing leads, deals, revenue, cost per lead and revenue per visitor from your funnel numbers, so you see the value of the rate and not only the percentage.
How many visitors do I need to get 100 leads?
Divide the leads you want by your visitor to lead rate. At 3%, 100 leads need about 3,333 visitors. At 4%, you need 2,500 visitors. At 5%, you need 2,000. The cost depends on your click cost, so multiply visitors by cost per click. At ₹12 a click and 3%, 100 leads cost about ₹40,000. Use your own rates, since they vary by offer, industry and traffic source, and check them again after any page change.
How do I convert cost per click into cost per lead?
Divide cost per click by the visitor to lead rate. At ₹12 per click and a 3% rate, cost per lead is ₹400. If the rate rises to 4%, cost per lead falls to ₹300 at the same click cost. This is why improving the landing page lowers lead cost without changing the ad budget. Remember that cost per lead is not cost per qualified lead or cost per deal, so check those too.
What is revenue per visitor and why does it matter?
Revenue per visitor is total revenue divided by the number of visitors. In the example, ₹9,00,000 from 10,000 visitors gives ₹90 per visitor. It matters because it compares directly with your cost per click of ₹12. If revenue per visitor is lower than click cost, each visit loses money. It combines page conversion, qualification, close rate and deal value into a single figure, which makes it a useful number to track every month.
What is a good landing page conversion rate in India?
There is no single good rate. It depends on your industry, offer, traffic source, price and page quality. A page for a free guide converts differently from a page for a high value purchase. Use your own history as the benchmark, and judge a rate by what it earns after qualification and sales, not by the rate alone. The calculator shows what each point of change is worth, and it keeps the comparison honest.
How much is a one point increase in conversion rate worth?
It depends on your traffic, funnel and deal value. In the example, moving from 3% to 4% at the same ad spend adds 100 leads, 5 deals and ₹3,00,000 a month. Over twelve months, that is ₹36,00,000 at the same assumptions. Enter your own numbers to see your figure, and check the qualified rate after any change because looser pages can lower lead quality and cancel part of the gain.
Should I send paid traffic to a landing page or my website?
A dedicated landing page usually works better for a single offer because it has one goal and one action. A website home page offers many paths and can distract. Match the page to the ad, keep the form short and make the next step obvious. Test both if you can, and compare qualified leads and deals, not just enquiries. Results vary by industry, offer and the quality of the traffic you buy.
Does Erino build landing pages or run ads?
No. Erino does not build landing pages, run ads or find leads. You use your own page tools, Meta lead ads, Google campaigns and portals for that. Erino takes over when an enquiry arrives. It assigns an owner instantly, creates the next follow up at every stage, runs a WhatsApp Business API inbox and analyses calls with AI. It has 100+ integrations with forms, ads and portals. Pricing is quoted after a free 15 minute demo.
